| Summary |
"A typical lead sinter machine feed can be pelletized in a drum pelletizer using tap water as a binding liquid. The green pellets produced have return sinter as cores, and an outer layer of new material and fluxes. The moisture content of the pellets produced is about 5%. The pelletizing procedure developed used raw materials from the Amax Lead Smelter, with only a minor amount of feed preparation. The importance of proper moisture control, use of binders, method of adding moisture, speed of pelletizing drum, etc. were investigated. The stability of pellets under extreme storage conditions was also determined"--Abstract, page ii. |
