| Summary |
"Phosphate glass compositions were evaluated in this work. The general compositions were P₂O₅-Al₂O₃-Fe₂O₃-CuO-PbO-ZnO-Li₂O and P₂O₅--V₂O₅--Al₂O₃-B₂O₃-PbO--Li₂O--Na₂O. These glasses were investigated for the purpose of identifying phosphate glasses whose thermal expansion, dilatometer softening temperature and chemical durability are suitable for sealing to medium expansion ([alpha]=110-125x10⁻⁷/°C) and low expansion materials ([alpha]=80-90x10⁻⁷/°C). Potential compositions has been identified for commercial application. The effect of different additives such as Al₂O₃, B₂O₃, PbO, ZnO, alkaline earth and transition oxides on the properties of phosphate glasses were also investigated"--Abstract, leaf 1. |
