Summary "Vibrations analysis necessitates having a device capable of performing some initial phase of detection. The vibration amplifier presented in this thesis performs such an initial aid to analysis by detecting amplitudes of vibrations of varying magnitudes and frequencies. This is accomplished by utilizing a Piezoelectric crystal vibration pickup to obtain an acceleration wave form. Two operational amplifiers perform integrations of the acceleration to obtain displacement. A calibrated meter within the device provides a method of determining magnitudes of displacement. Recording instruments such as the Brush recorder or an oscilloscope may also be used"--Abstract, leaf ii.
