Summary "This thesis presents the design of neurocontrollers (NCs) for the series and shunt branches control of the UPFC and the power system in a single machine infinite bus power system setup. The design of series and shunt continually online trained (COT) NCs are based on the indirect adaptive control scheme replacing the existing PI controllers in the series and the shunt branches of a UPFC. In addition, two other neural networks called neuroidentifiers (NIs) are designed to identify the hybrid conmplex nonlinear dynamics of the UPFC and the power system."--Abstract, p. iii.
