Summary "In this project, several control processes were developed, implemented, and tested for a small-scale, three-story structure. The structure itself was made of aluminum and two piezoelectric devices, in bending mode, provided control actuation. This structure and control system will be used for educational purposes by the Department of Civil, Architectural, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Missouri-Rolla for demonstration of dynamic loading and active control processes. This thesis outlines how these processes were designed, implemented, and tested and summarizes the effectiveness of the process."--Abstract, leaf iii.
