Summary "In order to train first response personnel in virtual environments to use the proper procedures during a survey operation of a site exposed to a hazard chemical, such as through a terrorist attack, portrayal of the complex physical processes of gas flow is required to a realistic level of fidelity. While there have been substantial investigations modeling plume dynamics in the open, little attention has been given to events within buildings. This paper presents a distributed simulation approach utilizing High Level Architecture that models gas dynamics within buildings and the associated sensor response suitable for effective training within virtual environments"--Abstract, leaf iv.
