"The thesis describes a laboratory setup and control of a Would Rotor Induction Machine (WRIM) when applied for the specific purpose of wind power generation. A 2 hp wound rotor induction machine driven by a 2 hp DC shunt motor is used to simulate a variable speed wind conversion unit. Vector control of the would rotor induction machine is achieved using IGBT converters.
