Summary "Morphological and mineralogical analyses using transmitted light microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy were conducted on a stalactite sample formed from concrete degradation of a bridge near Gweru, Zimbabwe. The goal was to determine whether this sample preserved any environmental information...The results of this study suggest that stalactites formed from concrete degradation are capable of preserving environmental information that provides insights into stalactite growth and rainfall influencing stalactite growth and development"--Abstract, leaves iii-iv.
