Summary "Collaboration involving designers in different disciplines is an increasingly crucial aspect in complex design situations, as exemplified in the architecture, engineering or design domain. CAD (Computer-Aided Design) systems are necessary for handling this complexity. However current CAD modeling technology is directed towards the production of a single product model. The aim of this research is to develop web-based collaborative CAD application. A distributed collaborative package is proposed as a feature for distributed CAD permitting teams to work cooperatively, accessing and exchanging information at run time in a distributed design environment"--Abstract, leaf iii.
